RAYNHAM CHILDREN RECOGNISED AS ‘WONDERFUL AMBASSADORS’ FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Raynham children are proud to be recognised for their sustainability contributions as the school receives the International School Award Intermediate Certificate awarded by the British Council as well as becoming the regional winner of the TfL STARS Sustainable Travel STARS Award for North London. Furthermore, Eco-Schools praises our children as ‘wonderful ambassadors for Eco-Schools’ as it awards Raynham with Eco-Schools Green Flag with merit.
This is an incredible achievement by our children and the school community resulting from strong collaborations with a wide range of partners including Trees for Cities, The River and Canal Trust, Bread n Butte, and Constable Daniel Woodall Primary School, Archives and Museum, both in Edmonton, Canada.
Throughout the year, the children have been contributing to developing green spaces across our school grounds creating amazing outdoor learning opportunities, participating in the design as well as planting workshops. They are also actively engaged in reducing littering in the school and our local community, growing vegetables and fruits as well as exploring issues on air pollution, the importance of sustainable travel, and they are sharing these experiences with their peers in Canada. Our children demonstrate their role as local and global citizens which is encapsulated in the school's sustainability ethos 'Care for Our World'.
