Brettenham were the winning debating team, pictured here holding the cup behind the team from Raynham, who were runners up.

The proposition which they debated was ‘We believe that social media is harmful to children’, with Brettenham speaking for the proposition and Raynham opposing it. The debate was of a very high quality and demonstrated that children had a very clear understanding of the issues surrounding the use of social media.

In the Public Speaking Competition, the subjects discussed ranged from ‘Choosing peace not war’ to ‘Breaking down stereotypes’ and ‘Climate Change’.

All eleven finalists spoke with confidence and showed a real commitment to their chosen topic. The photo shows the three top placed speakers. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
