Physical Computing
On Friday the 5th of July Fleecefield's Digital Ambassadors visited Wilbury for a morning of activities exploring Physical Computing.
The Ambassadors started by disccusing input and output devices and quickly moved onto using a Makey Makey kit to trick a computer into thinking that different fruits and vegetables were inputs!
They started by using one button and quickly built up to using a selection of different objects to create their own fruit and veg games controllers.
Next, the digital leaders moved on to look at how computers are programmed to process inputs and how they create an output. They did this by writing their own programs in Scratch. By using the input device as the event or trigger and the code blocks to program what they wanted the output on screen to be.
Finally, to finish, children built, programmed and played tunes on their own fruit and veg keyboard!
